Teen Life Skills
Teens across the globe often give off the impression that they know it all but educational statistics has shown otherwise. Basic life skills may not be educated from the high school and children might not get these lessons. Here are a couple of the life skills that every teen needs to succeed as an adult in life.
Teens will need to learn the value of cash. Teenagers may not be in the capacity of working when involved in school and sports activities but that in no way means they shouldn’t learn the value of money. Parent who provide for each and every whim their requests do not help to educate what money means, how challenging it is to earn it, the essence of saving for what you need or how to wait for what you want. Teens need to know what taxes imply, the way to save, how to balance a check book and how to budget. Earn, save, give, spend this is the chain. These are the basics about money. A good method to teach the idea is the 10-10-80 rule. Earn the money, save 10 percent, give away 10 percent to a charity organization or the church, and budgeting on the remaining 80 percent.
Teens need to learn how to cook, clean, and do laundry. All these Skills will be beneficial where a teenager lives, works, or goes to college. These skills are the fundamentals of life. We know teens who know nothing to do with cooking besides ordering pizza. They think cleaning is throwing clothes in the hamper for their mothers, and some don’t know how to start a washing machine let alone much soap to work with. Having these skills will create an accountable partner in relationships and your teenager will become a responsible grownup knowing the essence of sharing household tasks.
Teens need to learn basic conversation without use of slang. Please, how do you do, thank you, nice to meet you, and I’m sorry are the basics that a teen should be comfortable with. It isn’t old- fashioned to expect a teen to say hello and invite you when talking with adults or parents. It is respect. These skills will be needed during college conferences, job interviews, coping with work area customers, and business dealings as boss or as a worker. Teens that speak clearly polite dialogue and will walk off with a better chance of being employed when being interviewed.
Teens will need to learn and keep personal hygiene. Clean nails, clean teeth and hair, and generally a clean appearance will help to increase their self esteem, enhance mental attitudes, and improve the overall state of health Of the team regardless of where one comes from. It is worth noting that soap and water are among the cheapest ways to look after teen skin and prevent or treat acne. A clean appearance tells the world that a teenager has pride and cares for that which he or she does.
