Technically speaking, you will see that cold and warm compression are among the things that could be made and done to address the pain right, where applying cold compression during the first 24 to 48 hours is ideal. Doing so will lead to ease the pain and reduce the spasms and swelling. Applying warm compression after will assures that the heat provides the right temperature to relax the sore tissues. Do remember that the ice or the heat should be wrapped and not directly touching the skin.
